SPECTROPHOBIA | VIEUX 2021

Spectrophobia is definitely one of our most aggressive tracks. It was made during a period of frustration, filled with personal and creative problems. We used this song as a stress reliever. At one point the song was so noisy and forceful that we had to dial it back a bit. The word Spectrophobia means the fear of mirrors and one’s own reflections. The idea for the lyrics came about from recurring nightmares that I used to have as a child.

Following this release, we started building and rehearsing for our live show. We planned to have a big visual element in our gigs, which I designed using analogue video gear. The B side, Nightjar (listen here), was produced with these psychedelic video visuals in mind.
